GCSE Performance Tables 2017

The government has recently released finalised data about the performance of all secondary schools in England.
Our students have made consistently very strong progress over time.
In 2016, Magna achieved a Progress 8 score of 0.52, which was in the top 5% of schools nationally (and the highest performance for a comprehensive school in Poole, Bournemouth and Dorset).
In 2017, Magna achieved a Progress 8 score of 0.4, in the top 15% of schools nationally.
Magna has also achieved the highest ‘Similar School’ performance table ranking in Poole (based on attainment) every year since we have opened in 2013, coming either 2nd or 3rd out of 55 similar schools nationally for attainment.
‘Similar schools’ are grouped together by the prior attainment of their students, based on KS2 SATs scores. The schools are then ranked out of 55, based on ‘Attainment 8’.
This allows parents to see how well the school has performed compared to other schools nationally with exactly the same ability intake. This is therefore very useful to inform comparisons about how well a school is doing nationally.
These outcomes are a great testament to the hard work of students, their families and Magna staff. We are very proud of their achievements.
This gives us a great platform on which to build on. We are determined to raise attainment and progress even further.
