Praise for Magna from HM Government

We were delighted today to receive the following letter from Nick Gibb MP, the Minister of State for Schools Standards. He has written to offer his congratulations on our Progress 8 performance, following results published earlier this year.

As a school community, and I want to make particular mention here of all the support and encouragement our students receive at home, we should be very proud of what we have achieved to date. Our journey has not been an easy one from our 2013 start - to our 'Outstanding' Ofsted rating in 2015 - to our National Teaching School and National Support School accreditations in 2016 - to our Progress 8 results in 2017 that placed the Academy in the Top 5% of all schools in the country. These are all momentous achievements.

And our journey continues. All of us, students, staff and student families, are working together towards one common goal - to set each student on their own life journey with the greatest possible opportunity to succeed in their ambitions for that life ahead. The best possible qualifications and a desire to translate their strong work ethic into appropriate rewards. This is a goal that isn't just about hard work. There is a real joy to be found in working positively together, in celebrating achievement together and reflecting on a job well done.

Thank you all for the part you have played in these successes at Magna Academy.
