Our Graduation Ceremonies

At Magna Academy, we believe that a clear sense of achievement and due recognition are vital ingredients for building self-worth in our students.

In the 2016-2017 academic year, we reviewed how we deliver recognition and this resulted in some immediate changes with the introduction of badging systems for our Juior Student Leadership Team (JSLT) and the development of a Zero Heroes system.

We also introduced graduation ceremonies in July for students reaching key academic milestones:

  • Year 8:
Graduations at Magna Academy for students moving up into GCSE choices.
  • Years 11 and 13:
Graduations at Bournemouth University for students who have completed their GCSEs, BTECs and A-Levels, many of who would be leaving the Academy to complete their educational journey elsewhere.

With the kind support and encouragement of Bournemouth University, whose Kimmeridge House was a stunning venue in which to house the event, we hosted our inaugural graduations with a great deal of excitement. It was a very wonderful evening, which we would like to share with you in this gallery.
