Our Ofsted Report 2015: Outstanding

I am delighted to report that Magna Academy Poole was graded as ‘Outstanding’ overall, achieving an ‘Outstanding’ grading in all areas.

This is an incredible achievement. The inspection report is testament to the tremendous hard work of staff, governors, students and parents/carers. I am exceptionally proud of this fantastic outcome for both Magna and the local community.

The report begins by simply stating that ‘This is an outstanding school’. We are particularly proud of the way OFSTED describes our students, stating that they are exceptionally keen to learn, make exceptional progress, are polite to adults and to each other, are very tolerant of differences and that their behaviour is outstanding.

Sixth Form

The sixth form also receives considerable praise and a judgement of outstanding; a remarkable achievement as it only began delivering A Level subjects in September 2014. Teaching in the sixth form was described as ‘superb’ and the students themselves as ‘a great credit to the academy.’

A Key Milestone

This report represents a milestone on our journey. However, as you will be aware, we want to, and know we can, achieve so much more. Working in partnership with parents/carers is very important to us and will help drive further improvement at Magna. The staff and I will continue to give our best, as I am sure will the students, so that we can build on this amazing result and offer the very best education that we can.
