2016 A-Level Results for Magna Academy Poole

We are delighted to report that Magna Academy’s Sixth Form continue to impress us as their BTEC Level 3 and first ever A-Level results are announced. Their incredible BTEC performance from 2015, which placed them in the top 1% of schools and colleges nationally for progress, has been increased even further in 2016. 97% of all BTEC grades were Distinction or Distinction*, with a tremendous 70% of entries being the highest possible grade of Distinction*.

This is also the first ever year of A-Level results for Magna Academy. We are absolutely delighted that 95% of entries achieved an A*-E, with a fantastic 37% gaining A*-B.

Magna Academy’s Sixth Form has an exceptionally flexible approach, offering students mixed pathways in the sixth form where they can study a range of both A Levels and BTEC Level 3 qualifications to tailor their education to their future aspirations. Their combined A-Level and BTEC results show an outstanding 62% of students gaining A*-B grade equivalents in all their courses, with 98% of students securing a minimum of all A*-E grades.

Headline performances at Magna Academy Poole:

Hafi Ullah
Hafi secured an A in A Level Maths, an A in A Level Product Design and a Distinction* in BTEC Business. Hafi has accepted a place at Southampton University.

Emily Kemp
With 3 Distinction* in BTEC Sport, BTEC Health and Social Care and BTEC Applied Science, Emily has won a coveted place at Bournemouth University to study Nursing.

Josh Hepworth
Josh has made exceptional progress, scoring almost a grade higher when compared with the equivalent attainment of students nationally at GCSE. Gaining a Distinction/Merit for double BTEC Business, a Distinction for IT SubDip and a Distinction for BTEC Applied Science, Josh also re-sat his English iGCSE and achieved grade B. He has secured a college placement and apprenticeship for the new academic year.
