Magna Academy is committed to raising the awareness about bullying in the Academy and works to help individuals to understand the issues that arise from bullying. We aim to deal with any situations that arises swiftly and fairly.

Bullying or harassment of any kind is unacceptable. If bullying does occur, all students should be able to report it in the knowledge that incidents will be dealt with promptly and effectively. Anyone who knows that bullying is happening to themselves or anyone else, is expected to tell the staff or use one of the other channels provided. There is zero tolerance of bullying in the school and any cases reported are dealt with effectively.

Incidences of bullying can be reported directly to the Academy here. These reports will go confidentially to a senior member of staff and our behaviour manager. We also have anti-bullying ambassadors with whom students can report to with any concerns, and the ambassadors will be able to offer advice and support.  They are identifiable by green badges on their blazers.

What Is Bullying?

Bullying is deliberate, hurtful behaviour which is often repeated over a period of time. This can be racist bullying, homophobic or gender variant bullying, the bullying of children who are in some way vulnerable, cyber-bullying, social, verbal and physical bullying, and behaviour that can make others feel uncomfortable and unhappy.
